Cable Spaghetti w/sauce

...And here's what the, er, "completed" mixer looks like. Simple circuits for simple people.

How does one adjust volume levels without the mixer? Is there some control I'm not seeing?

This is volume 1. Volume 2 probably comes later.

There's very little signal loss through the circuit, so you can control the volume going in (I may add some passive output attenuation later to control output volume). Since this is hooked up the MOTU, I set levels in my recording software. I also set panning in the software, hence why there are no panning controls either. Those are on their way from Futurlec, along with the other parts to turn this into a mixer (although I'm wiring it so I can use it as a simple summing buss also, which is currently what it does). My ultimate strategy is to split the outputs into four so I can plug one back into the MOTU, one to a headphone amp, one to monitor speakers, and one for who-knows-what. But all of that will be determined after I test the full circuit. BTW, I think Silo should get into the laser engraving business... That requires a bit more capital than I have available, but in the world of cool toys, a laser engraver would be the coolest since you don't have many of the issues you'd normally encounter with a CNC machine. You could do circuit boards, make custom hardware (like knobs and buttons), cut and mark front and back panels... Basically, you could rule the universe by fabricating anything, depending on what sort of setup you have of course. It's cool to watch them work, too -- they're about as fast as an inkjet printer but they can cut and engrave at the same time. So if someone wants to spend about 15k for my christmas gift...

...Adding, that dad is correct -- volume 2 will be coming in a few weeks.
